So with Thanksgiving this week I figured this would be a good time to add this bit of advice. If you are having a large Thanksgiving, instant potatoes are such a time saver, not to mention space saver on your stove. It’s easy to make a big batch and just put them in a crock pot to keep them warm and ready to serve. With not having a huge pot of boiling potatoes on your stove it leaves you space for all of the other fixings!
How to do it:
Basically, I will just follow the instructions on the box, I just replace some things and add a few tablespoons more butter then what it calls for. When you get to the water I add half water and half beef broth. Then when it comes to the milk I use cream instead. Yeah, you are going to pack on the pounds but its thanksgiving so it doesn’t count right??
To season it I just use garlic salt, onion powder, and pepper. Taste, as you add so you don’t over season, that can always be added at the table don’t forget.
When you make the potatoes you bring all of your ingredients besides the potato flakes and seasoning to a boil so I add it all to a pot and put it on the stove, once it is boiling I pour it into a crockpot and then I add the potatoes, stir them in really well then start to season so you can taste it as you add.
That’s really all there is to it!
ENJOY!
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS TASTE AS YOU MAKE!!
