My Mamaw made the best cooked carrots, I always requested them. She told me they were easy to make but I didn’t attempt to do them for a few years, I will say hers were still better but this recipe is how I do mine.
Ingredients:
Baby carrots (a few handfuls)
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp white sugar
1 tbsp of brown sugar
several pinches of salt
water
Put your carrots in a small pot and add water until they are just covered. Add in the rest of your ingredients and bring to a boil. Once they begin to boil turn your heat down to just above a simmer and cover. Check them occasionally to make sure there is enough liquid if it begins to boil down to where they aren’t covered anymore add a little more water, about a ¼ cup at a time. Cook until they become tender. That’s all there is to it!
