I learned with my dad how to make egg rolls years ago, and still, love to eat them. I, however, wanted to try something new so I tried potstickers. They aren’t too different from one another, the main difference is they are mostly meat and you put that meat in your wrapper raw and cook it while you fry the wrapper. Mine are pretty basic, just cabbage, ground pork, and seasoning.
1 lb ground pork
2 tbsp soy sauce
½ tbsp. rice vinegar
¼ tsp. black pepper
¼ tsp. white pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp. onion powder
¼ a head of cabbage
1 package of wonton wrappers (you can get them in your grocery store normally in the produce section in the refrigerators with the veggies)
2 tbsp water
chop up your cabbage very fine, I use a food processor to chop mine, you want your pork and cabbage to be mixed together thoroughly. Put your pork into a large mixing bowl and slowly add in your cabbage, you may need to add a little more or a little less depending on how big your cabbage is and how much you want. You will want there to be more meat then cabbage, that will hold your mixture together. Once you got those ingredients together add your seasoning and using your hands mix everything.
In a small bowl whisk together your egg and water
Lay out one of your wrappers add a little less than a tablespoon of your pork mixture to the center of your wrapper, dip your fingers into the egg mixture and put it all along the edges of the wrapper and fold over. Keep doing this until you run out of wrappers, you may have some of your pork left over, which if so it makes for great fried rice.
Heat up oil in a large pan, make sure the oil is good and hot before adding your pot stickers, fry until they are golden.
Serve with your favorite sauce and ENJOY!
